The St Magnus Way was launched on Sunday 16th April and received great support. Around 170 attended the opening with 100 walking the first four miles of the route. The following day 45 intrepid pilgrims walked the full 12.5 miles from Evie to Birsay.

The opening of the St Magnus Way pilgrimage route also received a lot of media coverage. In case you missed some of it, here are links to the articles that appeared. There was a piece on Radio Orkney that was also broadcast on Radio Scotland. You can listen again to it here, from 6:00 minutes in. The BBC News covered the story and there were also articles in the Herald and the Scotsman, the Press and Journal and the Dundee Courier, the Times and the Telegraph as well as the Stornoway Gazette. It also made the front page of this week's Orcadian.

A huge thank you to everyone who came and made it such a success - we look forward to seeing you again on the 27th May when the second leg is opened.
