The first opportunity to walk the first section of the St Magnus Way, from Evie to Birsay, takes place on Easter Monday at 10am. The 12.5 mile route offers a stunning coastal walk with spectacular views to Rousay, Westray and Eynhallow as well as opportunity to hear some of the stories and resources available for this section of the route.

The walk is in one direction - if you wish a car at the end of the walk, meet at Birsay Hall at 9.40 to lift share back to Gurness for 10am. We will be joined on the walk by Beatrice Searle who will be taking the first steps in a 1300 mile journey linking Orkney and Norway with The Orkney Boat. Please bring suitable clothing and footwear as well as a packed lunch. The walk is a total of 12.5 miles over rough ground and we anticipate being in Birsay by 4.30pm where there will be refreshments to welcome us.
