A lochside walk and rare Orkney woodland trail.
The third stage continues to follow the Mans Stanes traditions, leaving Dounby via North Bigging to Harray Loch, past St Michael’s Kirk on to Winksetter and the Loch of Wasdale, leading finally through Binscarth Wood to Finstown. The theme for this stage is Change – reflecting on the changing landscape and ways of life over the centuries as well as our own often conflicting attitudes to change as something both welcomed and feared. You can also download a detailed route description and gpx file for use with mapping software.
IMPORTANT. There are currently building works being carried out at the Market Green in Dounby with fencing round the area, which means the interpretation board and waymarker aren't accessible. You should find enough information here and in the St Magnus Way app to keep you on track. Hopefully the works will not last too long.
